This Just In: Carrière Frères

We are so excited to announce that we are now carrying Carrière Frères scents here at the Paris Market! And they might just have the most unique backstory of any line of scents we've ever carried. The innovative Carrière brothers began making candles in 1884 when they set out with the goal of reinventing the candle-making process. They had perfected their process by the 1889 Universal Exposition, where they were awarded a gold medal for their long-burning "night lights," and soon after became the official wax supplier to the Basilica of Sacré-Coeur in Paris. Over a hundred years later, Carrière Frères is still dedicated to the original principles that inspired the Carrière brothers from the start. Their singular scents continue to be made after the exotic & indigenous oils that fascinated the botanists & explorers of the 18th century. And their fragrances are crafted in the region of Grasse, the world capital of perfumery. The candles themselves are carefully hand-poured & each wick is made of pure cotton & is specially woven to provide the optimal burn. And for the final finishing touch, the candles are housed in glass that has been white-lacquered by a specialist. Savannah's Fashion Night 2014

If you didn't make it out to Savannah's Fashion Night last night, then I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you truly missed out on a wonderful evening. If there's one thing we know how to do here at the Paris Market, it's party in style & that's exactly what we did. From the French 60s pop that was the soundtrack of the evening to the fun treats, like popcorn, cotton candy & seltzers (mandarin raspberry was our favorite!), that were being passed around to seeing everybody dressed to the nines, it was truly a night we won't soon forget. We would like to say a big thank you to BleuBelle Boutique who came out & set up an amazing pop-up shop & also, to everyone else who came out & made the night so special! Behind the Glass: Savannah's Fashion Night

Tonight's the night! Savannah's Fashion Night is finally upon us & we've spent countless hours over the last two weeks getting our store in tip-top shape for this very moment. Our theme for the evening is French 60s Pop & we've had a blast getting the store all decked out with bright, pops of color. And if you've passed by our storefront on Broughton Street over the past couple of days, you've seen exactly what I'm talking about with our new window displays. We're hoping they set the tone for this evening to be as exciting & vibrant as they are. So don't miss out! Join us tonight from 6:30-11PM for what is sure to be a night full of good company, delicious food, lively music, and, of course, great fashion.

On the Shelf: Matt & Nat

Matt & Nat is somewhat of a staple here at the Paris Market so we couldn't be more excited to be stocking our shelves with their new fall line just in time for Savannah's Fashion Night tomorrow. It's hard not to see why we love Matt & Nat so much. They're a vegan company that's dedicated to being 100% cruelty free (which means no leather!) & they use sustainable materials like recycled nylon, cork, & rubber. Moreover, the linings of all of their products are made of 100% plastic bottles. How cool is that?! And, of course, it goes without saying, their bags are absolutely beautiful! We're obsessed with the muted colors of their new line & are at a loss for how we could possibly pick a favorite. Be sure to stop by the store soon to snag one of these stunning bags because they're sure to fly off the shelves!!

Cozy Corners: Rustic Living Room Vignette

Last week at the Paris Market we completed a huge store-wide reorganization & with that has come a lot of great new spaces down in our basement. This rustic living room vignette is definitely one of our new favorites! We're all about the nitty gritty details & this space is full of them. From the vintage books to the natural curiosities to the hanging votives, there is always something new to catch your eye. And, of course, it's hard to miss the centerpiece of the space: the beautiful, taupe, Paris style sofa. If you can resist the pull to curl up & take a nice, long nap, then you certainly have more willpower than we do! Happy Labor Day!

Everyone spends Labor Day a little differently, whether that be relaxing around the house, taking a road trip with friends, or having a good old fashion cookout, & here at the Paris Market we're looking forward to doing the latter. There's just something about gathering with friends around a grill, breaking out some drinks, and sparking a friendly competition over games that feels like the most appropriate way to say goodbye to summer.
