Daily Inspiration : { Julia Child's Kitchen }

Creating new displays in the store is easily on the top of our list of most exciting projects to work on. One of the most enjoyable aspects of displaying happens at the research and ideation stage, where we are able to conceive and discuss creative new ways of presenting our products that we hope become an exciting and inspiring experience for shoppers. With our latest kitchen and cooking display we sought inspiration from one of our all time favorite chefs, Julia Child. Famous for bringing French cuisine to the American public and her delightful television personality, Julia has always been an immense inspiration to us, both as a person and chef. Undeniably, Julia knew French cuisine like no other, and her kitchen was never shy of being a beautiful display of organized chaos. Filled with all the cooking essentials and then some, Julia's kitchen inspired our latest display to capture the essence of a well used and well loved kitchen. Overflowing with our newest and most beloved cooking accessories, from linen tablecloths to olive wood serving utensils, our kitchen display has everything but one crucial ingredient, Julia Child herself.

The Artist's Entry

With back to school right around the corner we've been hard at work preparing our displays for the busy season! Keeping an artist's studio in mind, we've lined our entry table with a creative, colorful vignette that is filled with John Derian plates, colorful pillows, natural manzanita branches and the lovely aromas of Archivist candles. Featuring the wonderful paintings of Simoni Trapsioni, this tabletop display is such an inspiring little nook in the store that undoubtedly greets each customer with a burst of creativity. Get ready for the fall season, it's bound to be filled with numerous exciting and creative projects!

On the Desk: International Inspiration

Showcasing goods and oddities collected from all over the world, our newest display makes working at a desk a creative and inspiring endeavor. Workspaces undoubtedly have the potential to become a sterile, uninspiring environment, which is why including personal and familiar items into your space is essential. As we always enjoy the international feel, we've filled our shelves and desktop with books from Belgium, clocks from England, old nose molds from carnivals and custom handmade lamps created locally, providing an eclectic atmosphere filled with history and intrigue. Perfect for anyone who enjoys working in a inspiring environment, our new desk display is sure to motivate any individual in their creative endeavors.  

Weekend Inspiration: Household Essentials

Just in time for the weekend, we've got some household essentials that are inspiring us to get home and get to work! Our latest line of brushes come in a variety of bristles and handles that make for ideal companions around the house. With our hand forged scissors trimming and cutting away, you'll need these brushes to sweep up and scrub down the mess they leave behind. Have a great creative weekend!

The Color of Creativity

One of our favorite new displays is tucked away in a cozy corner located in the downstairs of our store. Surrounded by beautifully exposed brick walls, our artist's loft themed display fills the room with an expressive energy from all the vibrant colors found throughout. Just as a painter might brush a swatch of color onto canvas, our loft display is color blocked to help liven the space and keep the eye moving around around the room. Bold patterns found in our pillows and suzani textiles add visual interest and a strong sense of design. The addition of candles and hour glasses amidst the colorful room provide a sense of serenity to this creative space, ensuring the focus and comfort of an artist about to pick up their brush.
