It's not everyday you wake up, go to work and see Antonio Banderas running down the street dressed as a pirate. Although we're not exactly sure what is happening in this scene we do know a grand chase scene is underway including an epic pirate ship that can be seen flying down our very Broughton street. We can't wait to see how the movie looks on the big screen and to see Antonio running by The Paris Market. In case you missed out previous post documenting the transformation of Broughton street into Salty Shoals, check it out here!

With all of our new candles on our shelves we can't help but also be inspired by what helps make them burn! Adorned with beautiful illustrations, our matchboxes house long stick matches that ignite easily when dragged along the edge of the box. With so many interesting boxes to choose from it's hard to decide whether we like the matches or candles better! Either way, with the arrival of Autumn, and a variety of creative matchboxes to choose from, we're more inspired to burn candles than ever.

Color Story { orange }
With autumn slowly making it's way into full effect we can't help but notice the change in colors. Not only are colors in nature appearing more autumnal, but the hues found in people's clothes and the tints and tones found in the products in our store all seem to be blending into a mix of muted earth tones. This time of year one color that seems unavoidable is none other than the color orange. It's in the leaves falling off the trees, in the pumpkins lying in the patch and in all the decorations adorning the houses for the one and only upcoming Halloween celebration. All of which have undoubtedly grabbed our attention and inspired today's color story collection. Happy Fall!

Halloween at The Paris Market: { Bates Motel }
Everyday that passes is a day closer to Halloween which means we've been decorating the store with all kinds of spooky displays! Right now our entry table has been converted into a Psycho themed horror show that includes a landscape overrun with bats, coffins, skulls, creepy motels and scary houses. Hotel room keychains, eyeball rings and skull scarves are just a few of our favorite products lining the terror filled table, all of which get us more and more excited for the big day coming up. If you're looking to make your house a little scarier for Halloween, you know where to find us!

Weekend Inspiration: From the Boudoir { part two }
Friday is here and so is part two of our Boudoir collection! Last week we collected a few items from our ladies Boudoir cabinet, which means today we're focusing on men's essentials. Minimalist wooden toothbrushes, almond oil soap, mustache combs, a brush to shine your shoes with and a dopp kit bag to keep it all in a tidy place, our men's goods keep it nice and simple. An old world feel with a modern approach, the majority of our men's products keep grooming an effortless and low-maintenance endeavor, just as the modern man would have it. Have a great weekend!

From Children's Toys to Fashion Accessories
When it comes to seeing his name and work pop up on our blog, instagram our Facebook page, Collin Garrity is no stranger. As our in-house woodworker, Collin is always coming up with some new and exciting project to contribute to the store, which makes it all the easier to talk about him. Collin's breadth of work has been expanding since day one, leaving his comfort zone of children's toys to explore new territory of lighting fixtures, furniture, Christmas ornaments and fashion accessories, which brings us to what we're most excited about at the moment. Recently contacted by one of France's leading fashion designers Christophe Lemaire, Collin created numerous handmade wooden toggles that act as clasps on Lemaire's current line of belts. As you can see from the photos below (courtesy of Elle France) Collin's toggles have now been featured in Vogue UK, Elle France and have been seen walking down the runway of Paris' Fashion Week! Our excitement is through the roof and Collin is living proof that you never know where things may take you and to live out one's passion in life is an absolute must.
From ChristopheLemaire.com :
Christophe Lemaire designs the clothes he would like to wear himself, and the result is possibly the most universal garde-robe. The ideal wardrobe is the perennial theme of his collections, timeless yet precise garments for each one to mix according to the mood and moment to create a very personal unform. He solves the equation of a garment that is completely wearable for a diverse range of individuals looking for pieces both quiet and singular.
In june 2010, Christophe Lemaire is named artistic director of Hermès women ready to wear and presented his first collection in march with cordial welcome. “The choice was made very naturally. Christophe Lemaire designs sport chic garments exactly in the spirit of the ones created by Hermès since the 1920’s says Pierre Alexis Dumas, artistic director of the house, seduced by his perennial approach to fashion.”

Spongebob Squarepants in Savannah
In case you haven't already heard the news, Spongebob Squarepants is coming to Savannah! Set to film in the next couple of weeks, the word around town is Broughton Street, which is located in heart of Savannah's historic district, will be the stage and backdrop for a grand scene in the upcoming film Spongebob Squarepants 2. Taking a walk down Broughton street it's amazing to see the transformation that has been taking place in preparation for the big movie. Buildings that had been abandoned and colorless for years now look excitingly fresh and inviting as they are being painted one by one in bold primary colors. With new signage going up everyday, and being able to watch Broughton Street continue to transform into Salty Shoals, downtown Savannah looks and feels more vibrant than ever and our excitement to see Savannah on the big screen only intensifies with each fresh coat of paint.
Enjoy a few photos of some of our favorite new buildings!
