We're Over the Moon for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, which means romance is in the air! We couldn't help ourselves from wanting to play cupid this year so we've gone ahead and created the perfect setting to make your sweetheart swoon! Inspired by one of our all-time favorite classic films, Paper Moon, our display artists have been working 'round the clock recreating this year's iconic and nostalgic Valentine's Day backdrop. What makes this beautiful display extra special is that it's an interactive photo booth! This means we want you and your special Valentine to hop up on the crescent moon and the show the world how much you love each other! Don't worry if you're not dressed the part, we have all the props you could think of right next to the booth. So grab your best guy or gal, family, friend or foe and enjoy this photo booth! Currently Inspired : The Game of Dominoes

While we're not necessarily "gamers" here at The Paris Market, there are a few games that we love to play when we have the opportunity, and with today being a holiday we thought we'd share one of our household favorites! A game that is centuries old, Dominoes first originated in China before making its way to Europe and finally the United States. Like a deck of cards, there are many different ways to play the game, however the most the most common types fall into two categories, blocking and scoring. In blocking the main objective is to empty one's hand while blocking the opponent's. In Scoring the scoring happens during gameplay and is the main objective of the game. No matter which way you play, Dominoes is an amazingly simple and fun game to get into with friends and family. Playing traditionally is lots of fun, however after we've grown tired of being competitive with one another, our favorite thing to do with Dominoes is to take the tiles, stand each one upright in a successive line or spiral and knock them down! You'd be surprised how fun it is to watch them fall one after the other in a perfectly orchestrated pattern. Just give it a try! We hope everyone has a fun and relaxing holiday! On the Shelf: Marvelous toys for girls and boys

A recent addition to The Paris Market, and one of our absolute favorites as well, are these adorable, hand painted dolls by Blue Raspberry Designs. Founded by Valentina Felce, Blue Raspberry offers "marvelous toys for girls and boys". Each doll is delightfully unique and made by entirely by hand. After dabbling in different fields, Valentina discovered her true passion in illustration and making toys that represent those illustrations. Although we love all of Blue Raspberry's Designs, one of our favorites is the gentleman pictured below, who is actually the artist Salvador Dali! Complete with his famous mustache and melting clocks tattoo, this little guy is definitely on several of our holiday wish lists! Perfectly acceptable for children of all ages, Blue Raspberry Designs' dolls are guaranteed to make someone very happy this holiday season!

Making Spirits Bright : The Baby Corner

Just like the doll pictured above, our faces can't help but smile every time we walk through the young Paris Marketeer corner. This little nook is a treasure trove bursting with adorable stuffed dolls, knit sweaters with airplanes, handmade wooden tops, vintage marbles, a library of children's books and so much more! I think we enjoy this area of the store even more than the kids that run through do. One of the greatest joys of shopping in this section is the overwhelmingly warm welcome you receive from all of the stuffed toys. It's as if the entire animal kingdom is hosting a celebration just for you and your children! And now that we have begun integrating some of our holiday favorites with the rest of our fun toys, this corner is really making our spirits bright! Next time you're looking to take your children on a mini adventure stop by and take a stroll through the shop!

Weekend Inspiration: Halloween Decorations

With Halloween now only a few weeks away we're more inspired than ever to get home and start decorating! Transforming the homestead into a haunted house can be challenging ordeal, but with the right tools in hand it can just as easily be a fun weekend activity especially with decorations like skull bottle openers, spider napkin rings and beetle candles at your disposal. Weekend Inspiration: Children's Toys

It's all too easy to get distracted while working at the store. The Baby area in particular, is one section that always seems to steal our attention. So many wonderful toys and odds and ends fill this little nook it's a wonder our customers find time to see the other parts of the store at all. One of the greatest aspects of the Baby section is the variety of toys available. Whether your child enjoys retro toys or contemporary ones, our selection is sure to keep you and your children inspired. Personally, our favorite is the mix of old and new, modern and vintage. From circus mice to compasses, slinkys to rocket ships, tops to marbles, having fun couldn't be any easier. With toys like these and the weekend right around the corner, we can't help but be excited to play!

These little stuffed creatures are some of the most adorable toys for children that we've seen lately! With animals like foxes, badgers, frogs, cows and horses, all dressed in their tiny outfits, what's not to love? It's all too easy to get lost in The Paris Market. Every corner of the store brings you to a different part of the world with all of its unique treasure. It's near impossible to pick our favorite area, however, without question, the most fun spot to get lost in is our section devoted to the young explorers of The Paris Market. 

Filled with vintage toys, finger puppets, striped onesies, french ABC blocks, kaleidoscopes, marbles and so much more, our baby section is a burst of colorful imagination. Overgrown toadstools, retro buses, mice in matchboxes and garden gnomes run this bustling wonderland of nostalgia, all of which are sure to bring joy and excitement to the whole family.  

With a surprise around every corner, our baby section is fun for both children and adults. Whether you're looking for an adorable new outfit for your newborn, a toolbox starter kit, or toys from another era, you're bound to find something that will excite your child's imagination.
