On the Shelf: Hand-crafted Artisan Mugs

Being the big tea and coffee drinkers we are, we have amassed quite a collection of mugs over the years. After our cabinets finally reached max capacity, we've since learned to be more conservative with our selection, choosing to take home only those that we feel are truly unique. You can imagine our excitement this morning as we unpacked our latest collection of mugs and tumblers. Hand-crafted by artisans, each mug is made of a mix of Serpentinite (rock) and clay. Formed through a unique process, the mugs are created using the dry Serpentinite that is hammered into powder and mixed together with the clay in a 70/30 ratio (70% Serpentinite and 30% clay). The pieces are then formed by and and with bamboo tools and smoothed with stones. After being fired in a kiln, the products are covered with leaves. The smoke from the leaves against the hot Serpentinite creates its unique black finish. Each tumblr is hand-crafted from clay and available in several shades of calming neutral tones. Combined with a pot of fresh brewed coffee, these mugs are the perfect way to start your day. See the entire collection in store!

On the Table: A Friday Feast

It's Friday and we're getting ready for the weekend with a brand new tablescape! There's nothing we love more than finishing the week off with a delicious meal with our friends. The company of others and the memories made around the table is one of our most treasured joys in life. It's been a rainy week here in Savannah and all of April's showers have truly brought on lots of beautiful May flowers. Watching Spring come into full bloom is something that has always profoundly inspired us. And for today's feast, we wanted to bring some of that inspiration right to the table. Incorporating all of our favorite natural items, including our antlers, nests, moss, branches and petrified wood, we've set the table for a spring evening filled with nature, friends and new memories. Bon appetit!

Currently Inspired: Essential Notebooks

If there's one thing we've learned over the years, it's the importance of always keeping a notebook with you. Great ideas come and go at the most random of moments, and they tend to disappear just as quickly as they pop into your head. Countless times we've learned this lesson the hard way, which is why we swear by keeping a pocket-sized notebook with us at all times. You can imagine our excitement on a day like today when a new collection of notebooks lands on our shelves. Our minds have already begun racing with fresh ideas just waiting to be recorded in a newly bound book. Finding the perfect notebook can be a challenge, but at the end of the day, it's all about knowing your preferences. Pocket sized or over sized, lines or no lines, hardbound or softbound, whatever your book of choice may be, our new collection will surely keep your memory sharp and ideas flowing.

Vintage Find of the Day: Correspondence Collection

If it were up to us, we would spend all day everyday sorting through old papers and correspondence letters. The abundance of memories and personalized stories waiting to be discovered is a dream for history lovers like us. So rarely do we find ourselves in a situation where we can read an individual's personal experiences, and gain insight to a time now long past. As we've been sorting through our collection of vintage letters, we've been amazed by how current some of them feel. Even though it may have been written over a century ago, it still carries with it the emotions and sentiments every individual experiences in their lifetime. Which we find to be both equally inspiring and encouraging. And to top it all off, it goes without saying we are and forever will be, obsessed with vintage envelopes. Beautifully decorated in a collage of postage stamps and hand lettered addresses, each letter is a time capsule containing a unique history all of its own, and we can never get enough! Stop by soon and check out our entire collection of vintage letters. You never know what you might find!
