Postcards from Paris: { Voyage à Venise }

After whilrwind of events, and a grand finale in Venice I am back on the blog, with the same enduring excitment to post about the lovely occurences happening in the city of light.
To explain my absence, I said 'I do' to a Frenchie, and that process took me away from the postcards. Though it may be a cliché we went to Venice for our lune du miel. The city is so beautiful. It's difficult to write that simple statement because it seems to obvious, but really Venice is a city unlike any other. Every corner we turned it seemed as if the scènes kept getting better and better. When I was a little girl I had two cds I alternated each evening before going to sleep, one was a story for Mozart's, The Magic Flute, and the other was Vivaldi's Four Seasons concerto. Vivaldi's being based in Venice always held an intrigue for the city on stilts. The different violin-played seasons was the soundtrack to our voyage, each different one defined an area we strolled through during the four days we were there, and the favorite being Autumn to set the season in it's place.
Bisous,
Reba

The Cabinet of Autumn

With the cold front making its way through Savannah today it certainly looks and feels like Fall outside, which is why we're happy to celebrate this beautiful season with another Fall display! Continuing from Monday's Mushroom display, our Autumn Cabinet showcases more of our favorite natural treasures. Crabapples, mushrooms, moss and other dried brambles are nestled together with our favorite Santa Rosa candles exhibiting a cozy atmosphere of earth tones and natural curiosities. Each shelf in the cabinet offers its own tier of Autumnal beauty, creating just the right environment to grab your favorite blanket and cozy up for a warm nap!

'Tis the Season { the holidays are here }

It's that time of year...the most wonderful time of the year! Santa came a little early to The Paris Market and he's brought a little something for everyone. With the holidays right around the corner, all the little Paris Market elves have been busy making the store look as beautiful as Christmas morning! There's so many nooks packed with hidden treasures, trees dappled with a universe of ornaments and mantles lined all kinds of holiday cheer that it would be impossible to capture all of it with a camera, but we thought we would take a few snapshots anyway. Be sure to stop by to really appreciate all of the joy The Paris Market has to offer this wonderful season! Happy Holidays!

On the Shelf: Mushrooms and the Forest Floor

Take one step in our store and you will be surrounded by a natural wonderland. Mushrooms, branches, moss and pinecones are just a few of the endless bits of Autumnal decor nestled throughout the shop. With all of the fungi and bird nests around our main entry display might as well be the forest floor itself! We're big fans of doing and eating what's in season, and although these mushrooms may not be edible, we've at least attempted to celebrate the beauty of this season by lining our shelves with the colors, textures, scents and everything else that screams Fall. As always, if we can't experience the joy of spending time outdoors then we'll just bring the outdoors to us!

Red Cedar Incense

Scents, fragrances, aromas, or anything else that might pleasantly trigger our sense of smell is bound to excite us. Even with the volume of holiday candles we've been stocking our shelves with, our new Red Cedar incense cones are just too darn great not to talk about! Packaged in a beautiful red and gold box, this set of 32 cones will undoubtedly bring you hours and hours of a delightful scent of nature. The set includes a wooden burner, so you don't have to worry about finding the right base to burn the incense on. As written on the box, "Going to the woods is going home", and with lighting one of these cones, you're bound to feel like you're in the woods.

Made in Maine and available at The Paris Market.

A New Perspective

Sometimes it just takes looking through a different lens to see things freshly again. Shot with a professional Polaroid camera by Michelle and Katie, these snapshots offer a slightly different perspective of the store. Unlike digital photography, Polaroid cameras only give you one chance to get the shot right, which in many ways captures certain nuances and natural flaws that digital photography cannot. Maybe it's because the photographic process possesses nostalgic qualities, or maybe it's leaving things slightly up to chance, either way we can't help but feel charmed by the beauty and warmth found in these Polaroids.
