On the Table: The Outdoor Feast

Summer is the time of year when we like to take advantage of the outdoors as much as possible. Exploring the marshlands that surround Savannah is always an exciting prospect, though somewhat of an unrealistic venture to attempt on a regular basis. Dining outdoors however, is something we can do everyday! The summers may get hot here in Savannah, but that won't stop us from enjoying a delicious meal in the beautiful southern landscape. As moments like these continue to inspire us, it makes displaying our tables at the store for such an occasion all the more fun! And we've been having a blast with our latest tablescape! Creating more of an intimate setting, we've incorporated a few of our favorite earthy items for an all-natural atmosphere filled with pinecones, sage bundles and plenty of dried flowers! Bon appetit!

A Table Tout Le Monde: The Provençal Life

It's finally that point in the year that we look forward to for months and months. It's that special period of time in the spring season when dining Al Fresco becomes a regular event for us. There's a narrow window of time in Savannah, just before the summer, when the weather is truly idyllic. The sun is warm, but a gentle breeze keeps you from overheating. Soon Summer will be here and unless you enjoy a side of sweat with your main course, eating outside in the intense southern heat is out of the question. Lately, we've been really hungering to lead more of the Provençal lifestyle. Home cooked meals with ingredients fresh from the market and a table full of friends, family and good wine is what we love most. And today we're ready for it! Incorporating our favorite olive wood utensils and seagrass vessels and pitchers into our latest tablescape, we're excited to take this feast outdoors! Bon Appetit!

Behind the Glass: Southern Oyster Roast

Open up those garage doors and get your table ready because it's time for an good ol' fashioned southern oyster roast! This time every year when the first sings of spring begin sprouting, we like to grab a fresh catch of oysters and roast them in our back yard. The process of cleaning, roasting, shucking and finally eating an oyster is a dining experience that we truly cherish. Undergoing such an intense ritual makes you feel like you've really earned your meal. And invariably, the oysters somehow seem to taste all the more delicious as well! Seeing as oyster roasts are one of our favorite early spring activities, we thought it was only appropriate to showcase the excitement of such an event in our very own storefront windows. Filled with our favorite springtime dining and bar accessories, we're ready to tackle as many oysters as you can catch! Come check out the rest of our beautiful new windows soon and happy roasting! Bon appetit!

On the Table : Winter by the Sea

Although some may think of sea shells as summer decorations, we on the other hand like to enjoy their beauty all year round! For one of our current tablescapes, we've set the scene for an evening of dining that is surrounded by inspiring aquatic curiosities. In addition to the sea life, we've incorporated our favorite white dishware to keep the place settings light and simple. Utilizing our vintage silver flatware as an accent not only helps unify the varied decor, but adds that extra special shine to the table as well. Taking a trip to the beach this time of year may very well be out of the question, but that won't stop us from enjoying a warm sea-inspired meal together!

A Fancy Fall Gathering

Continuing with our Autumn themed tablescapes, this week we've lined the table in preparation for another early Fall gathering. Setting the table for a fancier evening than last week, we've utilized our favorite silver and glassware. To keep the atmosphere from feeling unapproachable we incorporated a lot of natural color and texture throughout the display to provide a more calming and accessible environment. Adding dried flowers and wooden mushrooms within perpetuates the Autumn motif and brings a refreshingly natural element to the tabletop as one enjoys their meal. With the arrival of Fall and  the weather we've been enjoying lately, whether it be a fancy or casual evening, resisting to drag the table outside for a fall gathering every night is becoming increasingly more and more difficult.
