This Just In: Scarves for Spring

A new season is upon us, which for many of us means a great deal of change is on the horizon. Naturally, with temperatures becoming warmer each day and daylight lasting longer and longer, the urge to reshape lifestyles, diets and the way we spend our free time suddenly becomes of utmost importance. We're all for getting rid of the clutter from winter and starting fresh for spring but just because the weather is warmer doesn't mean you have to forgo your excellent sense of style as well. We all know spring brings plenty of sunshine but it's easy to forget the nights are much cooler than the daytime, which is what makes scarves the perfect accessory for spring. For those days when you need a little something extra to make your wardrobe pop, a scarf will compliment you and your outfit perfectly. Rest assured, when the sun begins to set and a jacket or sweater is out of the question, wrapping yourself in a scarf will add that extra layer needed to keep you warm! Available in several colors and patterns, our new incredibly soft scarves have us ready for every occasion! Come pick out yours today!

On the Shelf : Fresh Garden Accessories

Now that the holidays are long behind us and we have entered the no-man's-land middle of winter, the days until warm sunny days can begin to seem far out of reach. Fortunately, one of the perks of living in the south is winter tends not to drag on as long as it does in the north. However, every now and then we find the need to look towards spring to help carry us through the chilly days of this cold season. Although we may jumping the gun, as we've begun filling our cabinets and shelves with fresh garden accessories, we've become anxious as ever to get our hands dirty, dig deep into the soil and plant something beautiful. It doesn't matter if we're going on a hike or potting new house plants, nothing satisfies us like being surrounded by nature! Stacking up terra cotta planters, arranging bulb vases and organizing potting tools may be a bit premature, but at least we'll be prepared for when the first signs of spring finally arrive.

A Fall Gathering

With the weather we've been having lately in Savannah, there's no hiding the fact that Fall is upon us. Waking up to rainy, overcast days can be tiresome, which is all the more reason why spending time with close friends and family is a must. One of our favorite ways to get everyone to gather around is a good old fashioned feast and with our most recent display, we've set the table for such an occasion. To keep our Autumn theme consistent we utilized warm earth tones throughout the table intermixed with subtle pops of red and green. The place settings remain somewhat simple as to keep the focus on the company gathered around the table. Utilizing Santa Rosa church candles with feathers and dried flowers as a centerpiece the table blends seamlessly into the atmosphere of a late fall evening. What else could one want than to share an evening with friends and family, keeping warm and eating well long into the evening? Bon Appetit!

Currently Inspired: Vintage Lightbulbs

With the cold weather now long gone the warmer seasons tend to offer many gifts for those fortunate enough to reside in the south. Lately, the sunlight has been really inspiring all of us at The Paris Market, which led us to consider what is inspiring us within our store. While lightbulbs are no substitute for the sun, recently we've been warmed by the idea of mixing these quirky industrial bulbs into our displays. Vintage lightbulbs mounted on our hand forged metal bases make up the bulk of our collection, these look especially striking when grouped in clusters of varying sizes and heights. We also carry modern adaptions that are highlighted through beautiful glass pendant lights. Although the shape of all these bulbs vary in size the overall design is derived from the original Edison lightbulb that Thomas Edison patented in 1879.

"We are striking it big in the electric light, better than my vivid imagination first conceived. Where this thing is going to stop Lord only knows." - Thomas Edison

When illuminated, an old world light emits from the bulb that casts a golden hue on anything it shines upon. Take a moment out of your busy day to stop by the store and see if you are as inspired by our vintage lightbulbs as we are. Only at The Paris Market!
